2025 Chinn Family Scholarship

The Asian American Cultural Center is pleased to offer the Chinn Family Scholarship for $7500 to an outstanding UIUC student for 2025. The scholarship recipient will be announced at the Asian American Cultural Center annual leadership awards ceremony to be held Monday, April 28, 2025.

Eligibility for consideration:

• UIUC student enrolled Spring 2025 and continuing in Fall 2025. May be undergraduate or graduate/professional student, domestic or international
• Majoring in special education, psychology, social work, counseling, human development and family studies, or related fields

Preferences will be given to students who meet any of the following additional criteria:

• Plans to work with people who have intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese
• Graduated from high school or college/university in Taiwan or China
• Parent(s) immigrated from Taiwan or China
• Active with the Asian American Cultural Center
• Displays financial need

Application process:

• Essay question: Tell us about your career aspirations and how you envision positively impacting individuals with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities (500 words)
• Include resume and unofficial transcript

• Finalists will be invited to interview following a preliminary review
• Due Sunday, April 6, 2025
